Marilyn + Tanner reached out to me because they loved my non-traditional “unposed” photography style. I love just letting couples be themselves and capturing what makes them truly unique. Marilyn said, “It almost seems as if you caught them on any other regular day but were able to capture the little perfect moments that can happen throughout, which I think is truly beautiful.” I LOVE how she put that! That’s exactly what I go for when I photograph people. Marilyn + Tanner wanted a sunrise session along the lake. While we did go at sunrise, it wasn’t what we expected. It was such a gloomy, cold, overcast fall morning! They didn’t let that hold them back from being their easy-going and fun selves.
We started the session at North Ave Beach, then went to Olive Park for a little more fall foliage and a different view of the Chicago skyline.
Also, I want to point out that I love they both wore their Vans. Marilyn rocked her sneakers and sweater dress. I always suggest wearing something that is totally “you” and they did and it’s the best.
Tell me about your love story!
Tanner and I fell in love with Chicago when we moved here 2.5 years ago. Tanner is from Traverse City, MI and I am from Tampa, FL so it’s been a completely new and eye-opening experience for the both of us. To put it simply, it was summertime love in Northern Michigan that quickly turned into an “I don’t think I could ever live without you again, I’m pretty 150% positive that I’ve met my soul-mate” kind of electricity between us.
We bonded over good food, good music, and good vibes. Tanner and I got engaged this past April at Red Rocks in Colorado and we are now SO eager to take our engagement pictures to capture this crazy amazing time in our lives 🙂
