When I first met Shannon and Logan, I was so excited to work with them because I loved their laid-back, fun personalities. They acted like best friends and what more could you want out of a relationship? Shannon and Logan met at summer camp when they were 16/17 years old. Shannon said after they met they kept in touch over AIM chat (man, does that take me back!) and then started dating about a year later. Since then, they’ve been through so much. They went to each other’s school dances, were there to support one another through graduation, and they even traveled and worked abroad together before settling down in Chicago.

Shannon and Logan dated for six years before Logan proposed by a pond on a perfect fall day in 2015. Shannon’s twin sister, Kayla, was hiding in the bushes taking photos to document the event! You can read all about it and see photos on Shannon’s blog!

Their wedding day was nothing short of perfect. I first met with Logan and the guys at Garfield Park Conservatory where we started with their first look. I love this location (especially during the colder months) because of the greenery and abundant natural light. One of the sweetest moments of the day was when Shannon’s dad escorted her to meet Logan for their first look. The look on Logan’s face when he saw Shannon for the first time in her dress was priceless. Her dress had the prettiest lace details and the sheer back was stunning! Her bouquet was one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen which she had made by Steve’s Flower Market. After the first look, we wandered the conservatory with the rest of the wedding gang before heading to their ceremony at Loft on Lake.

All the ceremony and reception decor, including the elaborate and delicious sweets table, was made by Shannon’s mom! A lot of love went into all those details and needless to say I was impressed just like everyone else.

Shannon and Logan wrote their own vows and were full of laughter and happy tears. My favorite part of Logan’s vow was when he promised he’d always be there to take the perfect Instagram photo for her. haha True blog husband right there!
