I met Emily when I used to work my 9-5 just before I quit to pursue photography full-time. We became even closer after we both left that place and now her and Jarrod are a couple of my closest friends. When they asked me if I’d be their photographer for their wedding, I was so excited! It’s such an important job and I’m so honored they trust me enough to take on that responsibility. When searching for a photographer, it’s crucial to find one that you vibe with and what better way than to hire someone you already know!
The session started at West Ridge Nature Preserve. We got eaten by mosquitos, scratched by prickly weeds, and saw a guy fall off his bike into the pond. Then, if you know Emily, you know incorporating food into their shoot was a must. We ended the session with a rosé, sandwich, and donut picnic in a nearby park (with fewer mosquitos, but more bats).
Looking at the photos, you’d never know they were being attacked by bugs the whole time. I’m so grateful for friends that trust me and let me put them in the middle of scratchy weeds to get the perfect shot. Also, Emily’s ring is one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen. Make sure you scroll to check it out!
Can’t wait to photograph their wedding in just a few months!
