Megan and Patrick are good friends of mine and recently got engaged after moving from Chicago to California. Megan and I have been best friends since high school and were roommates when we first moved from Indiana to Chicago.
When she told me she was moving to California I was pretty bummed because I knew I wouldn’t get to see her as much, but I was more excited for her since I knew show much she loves to travel. And I’m also kind of jealous because…California.
Everyone’s always excited when one of their friends gets engaged, but I was even more happy to be able to go all the way to San Francisco to take photos for them. Their wedding will be taking place in Chicago next year, so they needed photos to help document this new chapter of their life in California.
We started the shoot at Redwood Regional Park near Oakland. This park is really quiet with lots of trails for hiking and obviously many tall and pretty redwood trees!
After a quick break at Cliff House for some drinks, we continued the shoot at the Sutro Baths ruins near Land’s End in San Francisco right on the Pacific Ocean. The view at the baths is so pretty! We got there at sunset which was clearly a popular time for photos. There were so many other photographers there, we were fighting for space! Either way, we got really great shots at the baths just as the sun went down.
I had such a great time exploring these new places with them. Can’t wait till the next time I get to visit!
